it's funny how life always leads us back to our childhood.. Diana is a dancer at Thomas Armour Youth Ballet, Miami Conservatory in South Miami, where I spent most of my days as a young dancer in Miami City Ballet Junior Company. It was very emotional for me to go back to the same room where I rehearsed for performances and attended daily classes with Ms. Ruth and Mr. Pike (may he rest in peace)
It was even more of a JOY and emotion for me to meet Diana and to document her LOVE of Dance in my old dance studio. My heart simply poured out with this session. It was also amazing to have her dance teacher involved with the session as well. The images captured are the true essence of a dancer...practice, dedication, love for the art and free spirit.
May God Bless Diana, as she continues to pursue her dreams as a young dancer. May the future hold only the best opportunities for her and her beautiful, amazing, God Given talent. This summer she's attending several summer intensive workshops to "perfect" that technical skill.
I can't wait to see her when she gets back and maybe take class with her so she can share everything she learned at workshop! (Miami Conservatory actually does offer advance class for both students and adults if anyone is interested!) Saturdays at 9:00am and now for summer, a few days during the week.. :):):)
